hot & sour expensive wheat stew
1 Tbsp neutral vegetable oil
kernels and "milk" from 1 ear of corn
8 shiitakes, halved and sliced thin
3 shallots, sliced thin
1/4 cup sliced Chinese cabbage
1/4 cup rough chopped Chinese chives
2 cloves garlic sliced thin
2 scallions, sliced thin
1/2 cup farro
1 qt vegetable broth
1 cup lacto fermented tomatoes (recipe someday)
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp fried garlic-shiitake vinegar (also someday)
1/2 tsp ground white pepper
salt to taste

Heat a heavy saucepan over medium heat.

Add oil and vegetables and saute several minutes, stirring often. Sprinkle with salt.

Add farro and toss to coat.

Add vegetable broth and bring to a simmer.

Cook until farro is tender - about 15 minutes.

Stir in remaining ingredients and serve.
